Rama Devi Women’s University (RDWU) and Diverseus Society Trust (DST) Conduct Orientation and Career Counselling Program for Visually Impaired Students
Bhubaneswar : Rama Devi Women’s University (RDWU) and Diverseus Society Trust (DST) on Saturday conducted an “Orientation and Career Counselling Program for Visually Impaired Students” at the university campus.
The program was aimed at providing Skill training, guidance, and support to visually impaired students over the next two years in choosing their career paths. It was attended by all the Visually Impaired students studying in the university.
The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Sasmita Kar, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, RDWU. She spoke about the importance of education and career counselling for visually impaired students. Mr. Sannyashi Behera, President of Orissa Association for the Blind, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour, Other dignitaries present on the occasion were, Dr. Gouri Prava Samal, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, RDWU, Ms. Archana Mishra, Trustee DST, Mr. Sameer Ali, Trustee DST, Debasis Sahoo, Trustee DST. Mr. Devdutt W. Mishra, Master Trainer DST presided over the Orientation program and gave the insight to the Skill Training to be delivered to the students over the next two years.
An individual,
one on one session was conducted for the assessment of the students so as to understand the strength, weakness, interest areas of the students to customise the skill training for the students. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Gouri Prava Samal, RDWU. She thanked the organizers for the initiative and said that it would be helpful to the students in making informed choices about their careers. The program was a success and it was appreciated by the students.
